Full Field Farm is a small diverse farm in North Chatham, NY specializing in the production of heritage breed livestock. We steward our land using only biodynamic and organic practices. Our cows have access to the outdoors every day of their lives. They eat grass and hay. That's it. Nothing else. No grain, growth hormones, or antibiotics.
The “Rose-Beef” from our very rare Randall cattle, is made from mother's milk, grass, and all the good things that a calf can find out in the pasture: sunlight, warm breezes, and space to move about in. Our meat is similar to what you might find called natural-veal, pastured-veal, or rose-veal. Much has been written about the health benefits of meat raised the way we raise ours: lower in fat and calories and higher in Omega-3s, Vitamin E, and CLA. So its good for you, but how does it taste?
“Rose-Beef" describes the flavorful meat of these slow-maturing and naturally healthy calves. Our free-range, pasture-fed calves have finely grained meat with little intramuscular fat. Research has suggested that the fat in fine grained meat is more flavorful. We look forward to sharing the intense clean taste of our beef with you.
Our pigs and chickens get fed organic grain, food scraps, and whey when available. They also get the benefit of having free access to pasture. Right now our feeder pigs are out on ground we plan to grow vegetables on this spring. They are doing a great job of plowing it up and are really enjoying themselves. We will get our first chicks this month. They will be out on pasture in April.
Check back and follow our progress and we look forward to working with you in creating a local food culture that values quality and health.
